The annual total purchase amount of 36 varieties of goods given away to the tourist vessels is more than the annual production capacity of a factory. As per this calculation, the seasonal purchase amount is 93.600.000 pcs per product. It is not possible to make this purchase from Turkey, making people believe this number is another problem. We are therefore trying to solve our problems through making all our purchases on cash”. In order to face the problems they are facing, ARK Istanbul is planning to make production under its own brand. The only obstacle is the products’ not bearing a renowned and trustworthy brand. On this matter, the ARK and NYC authorities have considered it appropriate to obtain royalty from foreign companies in exchange for advertisement and promotion. Isaac Karen stated the following on the subject: “We have contacted some companies operating in foreign countries. We will only use their names so as to provide supplies to vessels and will pay a low royalty price. We will have supplied renowned brands and will have also made their promotion”. However, it is obvious that challenging Greece’s prevalence in the market is a difficult task.
